HELPO Foundation’s HRD Programme 2011

Human Resource Development (HRD) Programme for the Disabled held at Nehru Memorial Hall on Thursday – 20th January 2011

Though differently abled, Nehru Memorial Hall on 20th January ’11 witnessed an orderly summation of 250 students, escort teachers and principals of 20 schools for the handicapped in Pune. It was indeed a delightful experience to watch them groove to the latest numbers.

The abundant talents displayed on the stage spoke volumes about the near normality of these students. The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Father Thomas Muttam, Principal – Snehalaya School for Cerebral Palsy, Wagholi.   In his address he exhorted the public to accept these children into the mainstream life.

Mr. Dhananjay Bhole, Coordinator – Computer Center for the prednisone Blind, Pune University spoke about the enormous opportunities that await the handicapped in computer education. Dr. Abdul Salam, President of the HELPO Foundation, the host organization, appreciated the continued collaboration of Principals and Staff of all the institutions of the disabled in Pune. Mrs. Pujari, Principal – School for the Blind Girls, Kothrud, expressed her views and need for coordinated action programmes from the community groups for integrated development of the disabled. Mr. Sandeep Prabhale of Wai compered the programme.
